The Trapper’s Cabin is a 2 bedroom 1 bath cabin located in the heart of Gasquet, CA, conveniently situated off the 199 highway. Gasquet is 20 miles from the ocean, 10 miles from the Redwood National Forest, and sits directly on the Smith River. Come for the many adventures that the tallest trees, cleanest river, and secluded beaches have to offer, but stay for a sense of pure serenity.

 

The space
There is a queen sized mattress in each of the two bedrooms, as well as two cot-sized day beds in the living room, in case you need to sleep six. There is also a full kitchen and small laundry room. The backyard is secure and well suited for pets or small children. The cabin is located in a residential neighborhood and after a walk down the road, you will find that Gasquet has some of the most friendly neighbors around. $165 a night.

Our cabins are located 17 miles from Crescent City, CA. off Hwy. 199, in a quiet, secluded country setting. We are surrounded by the Smith River Recreational Area, with the wildlife our closest neighbors. Our cabins overlook the river, an organic garden, and large lawns. Two private swimming holes are within walking distance. Two golf courses and access to the local Airport are nearby, and we are only minutes from the Redwoods and the Ocean Beaches.

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park
 

Jedediah Smith Park is just a 15-minute drive up Highway 199 from Crescent City and has drift boat access. Jedediah preserving old-growth redwoods along the Smith River. It is located along U.S. Route 199 approximately 9 miles east of Crescent City. The park is named after explorer Jedediah Smith, and is one of four parks cooperatively managed as Redwood National and State Parks. The 10,430 acre park was established in 1939 and designated part of the California Coast Ranges International Biosphere Reserve in 1983. If camping, make sure you bring rain tarps & winter jackets and lots of quarters for the showers.
