The fighting salmon

We got after them today on the Klamath River. We lost the first eight we hooked, but we quickly made up for it. The fish fought very well today. Lots of line stripping rod bending action! Keep your lines tight!

The Rivers: Lower Klamath
Mike Coopman of Mike Coopman’s Guide Service reports the fishing is still really good on the Lower Klamath. “There’s quite a few adult salmon around right now, and the jacks have been moving through occasionally. There are still lots of adult steelhead around, as well as a bunch of half-pounders. It’s been tough to catch the adults as the half-pounders are really aggressive,” Coopman added. A reminder, the Fall Salmon regulations go into effect on Friday. The daily bag limit will be three salmon, of which only one can be an adult, (larger than 22 inches). — Kenny Priest
